Women Love PORN!

Belle De Jour writer Dr Brooke Magnanti says Cameron's internet porn 'opt-in' system won't stop women watching sex online
"Mmm... Gay porn. Yummy!"
When I started writing explicit gay erotica back in early 2000s, I didn't expect to get fan emails from women. Later, when I decided to write gay erotica commercially (with more non-sexual plots), surprisingly 99.99% M/M readers I met (mostly women) stated they disliked reading explicit sex scenes a.k.a. porn. I honestly don't know what women want, especially after reading the article from Daily Mail UK. It states that women LOVE PORN! Hmm...

David Cameron announced on Tuesday that every householder connected to the internet will have their access to online porn blocked unless they ask to receive it. And while many people are heralding the 'opt-in' porn restrictions as a success, Dr Brooke Magnanti- research scientist, and writer, who, until her identity was revealed in November 2009, was known by the pen name Belle de Jour - has shed some interesting light on the new development.

Writing on The Telegraph, she said: 'One big assumption seems to be that only blokes will opt-in to porn, because the widespread myth is that only men watch it. But women seek out hardcore content too.'

"I love porn. Do you?"
She goes on to explain that women don't just seek hardcore content in erotic fiction such as Fifty Shades Of Grey but also online. She revealed that Google search terms such as 'porn,' and 'Playboy' are more likely to be entered by men than by women, however, generic words such as 'sex,' are equally as likely to be entered by women and they are actually more likely to type 'adult sex,' 'free sex,' and 'cyber sex' than men are.

Soundtrack For Books

handsome man listening to music on headphone — Stock Photo #28135681
When we watch movies, we'll notice that background music/score is always there. Depending on the scenes, the right background music can drive us to delve deeper into certain emotional state. Without background music, movies will feel static and emotionless. However, in textual stories, music is absent. Readers have to create their own imagination.

For me, as a writer, music helps me write better. The right kind of background music puts me into emotional state, to help me picture my own scene better. Many times, background music inspires me to write new minor plots which originally weren't intended to be written. I heard, other writers use the same musical method when writing. Someone I know also says he likes to paint with loud music for inspiration.

While other writers choose sexy jazzy vocal songs, I go for instrumental music. To me, vocal songs with words are simply distractions. It's akin to someone talking to you while you need to concentrate. It simply doesn't work for me.

Adult Blog No More

Loyal readers of Himeros Blog must have noticed that this blog used to be marked as adult blog. However, from now on, Himeros Blog will become adult blog no more. Why? Some of you may wonder. There are several reasons which underlie my decision to change this blog's format.

1. Blogspot's new policy regarding adult blogs
Today, I receive an email from Blogspot. After June 30th 2013, they will erase all adult blogs which display ads to porn sites. When I started this blog, I filled it with my original adult-rated stories accompanied with cover arts featuring gay porn stars. The ads/links I placed were a part of agreement with the studios which owned the models. To be honest, I make NO money with my ads! I haven't cashed out a single cent from all my adult web affiliations. However, Blogspot's new policy makes it impossible for me to maintain the blog without breaking either's rule. Thus, I finally decide to erase all my adult stories, covers, and links. With that, my blog is practically no longer an adult blog.

2. My commercial writings
Writing free adult stories is fun but it gives me no income while I have monthly bills to pay. Since February 2013, I start writing commercially by self-publishing. Although my stories are still erotica, they are not entirely porn stories with the heavy addition of non-sexual plots.

Therefore, from now on, Himeros Blog will no longer display adult-rated stories. Instead, it will display excerpt, review, promotional materials from my commercial gay ebooks. I'll also begin posting stuff which are non-related to my stories because it seems like a trend for writers.

Loyal readers who miss my free adult stories, you can still find them at http://www.himeros2013.tk Please keep supporting me by purchasing my commercial ebooks. Help me to support myself. Thank you for reading. And thanks for understanding.

Interviewing Neal Lucas from Bleak Woods

Bleak Woods is my self-published debut M/M erotica novel - released in February 2013 - which tells about Neal Lucas who is stranded in a creepy forest, only to discover that he may lose his head if he refuses to help Headless Horseman of Norcross. In his quest, he meets some hot men and discovers gruesome facts about the specter. This erotica ends with twist ending. If you like unpredictable plots and are not afraid of steamy details, you must read Bleak Woods. It has 64,000+ words and costs only $5.99. It took me months to finish it, along with the arts and freebies :)
Neal Lucas
Today, I’m interviewing Neal Lucas, who works as a journalist in Los Angeles. We're currently standing at the entrance to Bleak Woods, a forest somewhere in Virginia which has been rumored to be haunted.Neal, thanks for sharing your time with us. We know you’re in the middle of your vacation here.

Neal: You’re welcome. Thanks for having me here.

So what brings you to Bleak Woods?

Neal: I've actually come here to hunt deer. There’s a website that claims that Bleak Woods is a heaven for American deer. No one ever hunts them here, so I thought I should check it out.

But Bleak Woods is renowned for its creepy legend of the Headless Horseman of Norcross. Don’t you know that?

Neal: The website did warn about that, but I’ve chosen to ignore it because I don’t believe in the supernatural.

So why don’t you believe in the supernatural. I mean, you believe in God, right?

Neal: Yeah, I do. But that’s different. I personally know some people who think that believing in God is equal to believing in ghosts, Big Foot, UFOs, etc. But to me, religion is all about faith, not supernatural mumbo-jumbo.

That’s an interesting view, Neal. So, you're not afraid of the Headless Horseman of Norcross?

Neal: Nah! I'm sure it's just a hoax spread by some save-the-animals activists. I have to admit, their tactics work. I mean, no one dares to come near this forest.

Do you hunt a lot? I mean, judging from the weapon you carryand your big backpack… I'd say you're a professional hunter. Correct?

Neal: Not really. I used to hunt a lot though, with my dad when I was younger. But the tradition ended once I went off to college and began work. Life just gets too busy these days. You know, what I mean? It seems you no longer have time for yourself anymore. Just work, work, and more work. No work, no money. No money, no love…

Speaking of love, does anyone know you're gay?

Neal: Err… Yeah, I guess so. I mean, I don't flaunt my homosexuality, but if someone asks, I don't mind telling them I'm gay. If they don't like it, I don't care. I have no time for homophobia.

Bleak Woods

In 1744, something terrible took place in a British colonial town in America called Norcross. Charles Carleton, a respected townsman, was caught having sex with his stableman, John Brillhart. The priest of Norcross, Father Phelps, decided that Carleton had committed the most hideous crime ever recorded in human history: sodomy, which was punishable by death according to the Bible. Fearing that their beloved town would become the next Sodom and Gomorrah, Carleton was decapitated. After he died, his soul held a deep grudge and turned into the Headless Horseman of Norcross.

In 2012, a gay journalist named Neal Lucas was lost found himself waking up naked in Bleak Woods, a mysterious forest shunned by the locals. The Headless Horseman threatened him to find his lost head. In Neal's quest to find the head, he uncovered gruesome facts about what really happened in Norcross hundreds of years ago. What secret lay between the Headless Horseman and Neal which was separated by hundreds of years?

Himeros' Web - My NEW Website

Hello everyone, sorry for the inactivity. It's been long since I posted my last blog entry. Then again, it takes SO long to finish a full-length novel! The good news is I finally have my own official website. Unlike my site at Pridesites, this site has no annoying double banners. I re-designed everything although I try to maintain the previous look. As usual, I created all the arts, from the intro art to cover arts. Everything in artistic professional taste. My first full-length novel called Bleak Woods is also available for purchase!

My website at pridesites will still be online. But I may abandon it altogether because I now prefer to write commercially. I actually enjoy writing for free, but as a jobless man, it's simply impossible if 99.99% readers are non-donating members. I have bills to pay, food to buy...

I want to thank all of you who ever donated to me, whether it's $50 or even $2. Special thank to Richard who never fails to support me. Now that I've taken a slightly different path, I do hope you guys will still support me. Please purchase my gay erotica ebook so that I can pay my bills. Writing is my only income. Thank you :)
